Our private equity business comprises two areas - Opportunistic Capital and Venture Capital.

The Opportunistic Capital business focuses on investing in assets with good risk/reward profiles. Sometimes this means buying fairly priced assets in markets we believe are about to experience strong growth. Sometimes it means buying distressed assets and working with management to turn the company around. Sometimes it means finding undervalued or mispriced assets. But in every case the investment should have some short term cash flow potential, and significant long term capital appreciation potential.

Our typical investment horizon is 5 to 10 years. We typically look to take a significant but non-majority position in an investment along with some other investors. We look to invest in companies with proven management - but are not afraid to suggest improvements when necessary.
